ShuttleShip S18 STL File
Whether you’re a fan of helix tatting or just want a way to tame the ever-growing pile of shuttles, this DIY 3D printable shuttle caddy helps you keep them organized and ready for your next project. Its sturdy construction and large, flat base make it stable on any surface. Easily store up to eighteen shuttles and your work in progress or a ball of thread.
The ShuttleShip features a smooth, contoured shape that makes it easy to pick up and move around even with arthritis. Molded-in, tapered shuttle slots set shuttles on their edges instead of their tips to prevent dulling, blunting, and bending.
Each shuttle slot is sized to fit standard Clover or Moonlit shuttles, and can comfortably accommodate eighteen shuttles of up to 1/2” x 7/8” (19mm x 23mm). The center cubby can fit a ball of any size thread comfortably, as well as tools and other accessories. The ShuttleShip S18 itself is just over 6.5" (168mm) in diameter and 2 3/4" (70mm) tall.
Please note that my logo and branding information is located on the inside of the center cubby. If you would like your own logo, a convention logo, or other design debossed into the cubby, please message me for details.
Printing recommendations
- Print with the flat base against the print bed, in the same orientation you use the ShuttleShip
- Supports aren't necessary
- A brim shouldn't be needed unless you have significant adhesion issues
- You may want to use Gyroid infill since the large layer cross-section can cause grinding with infill patterns like Grid that cross over themselves within the same layer
