Add more flexibility to your spinning with these sectional bobbin inserts for the Electric Eel Wheel 6.x by Dreaming Robots. These are perfect for spinning up small samples of fiber, or for workshops when learning and practicing new techniques. The bobbin inserts allow you to keep spinning without having to change your master bobbin; simply move your yarn guide to the next bobbin and pick right back up!
Since they slot onto your existing bobbins, they spin with exactly the same tension and uptake as you're used to. Simply unscrew one end of your large bobbin, slide the assembled bobbin inserts onto it, add locking plugs to each insert, and thread the large bobbin end back on.
Small triangular locking plugs keep the bobbin inserts locked in position relative to the master bobbin and each other, so that they don't spin freely on their own. A complete set of bobbins needs the number of bobbins plus one for locking plugs to fully secure the set in place. Two plugs are included for every bobbin insert; this way you have spares just in case you lose one. Please note that these plugs are only compatible with the original style of EEW bobbin shown in the product images. You can use tape to secure the bobbin inserts to the ends of other styles of master bobbin.
The bobbin inserts even have clever notches built right into the rim for you to secure your spinning in place while storing your yarn.
The best part about these bobbin inserts? You can ply right off your master bobbin! Swap the master bobbin out for a standard full-size empty bobbin, place the master bobbin onto a single (tensioned) lazy kate spike, and start plying. This also means you can ply all of the small bobbins onto the large bobbin without having to swap out bobbins mid-ply, since the large bobbin will hold all the plied yarn without issue.
The large master bobbin (the original EEW 6 bobbin or equivalent) is not included with this set.
These bobbin sets are fully functional but have some cosmetic flaws (burbles or globs in the finish, significant discoloration, a cat hair got stuck in it, etc). They work as intended, but are less attractive. I don't intentionally produce lower-quality products, so these will only be "in stock" when there is a printing issue.

These bobbins are printed in high quality, eco-friendly, industrially compostable PLA plastic. Please remove all fiber before composting.
